Guiding Values

The Brico Fund focuses on strengthening leaders and organizations to increase the coordination and integration of advocacy, policy, and communications efforts that create broad systemic change.  We support organizations whose culture and programs deliberately and sustainably incorporate the following values:

1. Transformation The Brico Fund seeks to create systemic change by addressing the root causes of problems.  We support organizations that emphasize innovation, integrate best practices, take strategic risks, and advocate for change.
2. Collective Impact The Brico Fund strives to support an ecosystem of actors rather than only individual organizations.  We also seek to reward alignment and systemic results rather than individual efforts.  We aim to go beyond funding good program work and, instead, support collaborative efforts that catalyze and create systemic change.
3. Leadership The Brico Fund believes that strong leaders are crucial to the effectiveness and sustainability of organizations and the sector.  In addition to supporting and advancing existing leaders, we strive to identify and cultivate young and capable leaders for the future.
4. Interconnectedness The Brico Fund believes that large-scale impact depends on increasing cross-sector alignment and learning among many organizations.  We support dynamic relationships between leaders, communities, program areas and issue clusters. We value organizations that seek feedback from their constituents, partner organizations and the community, and evolve as a result of what they learn .
